Overview
Shifts define the working hours for your plants and departments in Guidewheel. Once created, shifts can be used to filter and view data across different modules in the platform. This setup ensures reporting aligns with your team’s actual operating hours.
Prerequisites
Admin permissions in Guidewheel
Knowledge of your plant or department’s standard shift schedule
Shift start and end times in 24-hour (military) time
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to Settings.
Select Configurations.
Scroll down and click Shifts.
If this is your first time, no shifts will be listed.
Click the + button to add a new shift.
Enter the Shift start and Shift end times in 24-hour format.
Example: Start 23:00, End 07:00.
If your shift runs overnight (crosses into the next day), adjust the end date to the following day.
Example: Night shift starting Sept 5, 23:00 and ending Sept 6, 07:00.
Enter a Shift name (e.g., “Day Shift,” “Night Shift”).
Review the shift details, including time zone and duration.
Click Save to create the shift.
Once saved, your shifts will be available for filtering and reporting across Guidewheel modules.
Tips & Best Practices
Use clear, descriptive Shift names (e.g., “1st Shift – Packaging” or “Night Shift – Plant A”).
Double-check time zones if your facilities are in different regions.
Keep your shift list current—archive or adjust outdated schedules to avoid confusion.
