Overview

Scoreboards let you display real-time machine performance across the plant floor, break room, shop floor, or even your office space. Any smart device with internet access can be used to show a Guidewheel scoreboard, helping your team stay aligned on performance and machine status.

Prerequisites

  • Admin permissions in Guidewheel

  • Smart device with internet access (connected to a display/TV)

  • Devices already set up in Guidewheel

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Scoreboard Views.

  3. Click the + button to create a new scoreboard.

  4. Enter a Scoreboard name.

  5. Choose what to display:

    • Device list (e.g., all devices in a plant or department)

    • All devices across your Guidewheel account

    • Segments (a combination of devices or lists from multiple plants or departments)

  6. Select how tile colors should display:

    • Performance-based – Colors reflect performance metrics (e.g., above 60% = green).

    • Current status – Colors reflect whether machines are running, regardless of performance.

  7. Configure display options:

    • Tile size: Regular, Large, or Extra-Large

    • Full screen mode: Expands scoreboard to fill display

  8. (Optional) Set Planned downtime color coding:

    • Example: If downtime exceeds a set duration, tiles can display as purple.

  9. (Optional) Enable Urgent highlight for current status mode.

  10. Select which metric(s) to display (e.g., runtime, performance, utilization).

  11. Choose the default time range for the scoreboard view.

  12. Configure color coding rules for the selected metrics.

  13. Click Save to create your scoreboard.

  14. Return to Scoreboard Views to confirm your new scoreboard is listed.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Start with a simple scoreboard and expand as your team gets familiar with the views.

  • Test both performance-based and current status color modes to see which is most useful for operators.

  • Use segments if you want to combine devices from multiple plants or departments into one scoreboard.

  • Gather operator feedback on visibility and readability before finalizing tile size and layout.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: Scoreboard tiles don’t change colors.
Fix: Check whether you selected Performance-based or Current status mode, and confirm color thresholds are set.

  • Symptom: Scoreboard looks crowded or hard to read.
Fix: Switch to Large or Extra-Large tile size for better visibility on big displays.

  • Symptom: Wrong devices are showing.
Fix: Edit the scoreboard and confirm the correct Device list or Segment is selected.
