Overview

The Downtime widget provides a breakdown of downtime events to help identify and reduce causes of lost production.

Why it matters

Consistently reducing downtime is one of the fastest ways to increase output without new capital investment. Tagging and analyzing downtime helps teams target the most costly losses.

How it works

  • Choose whether to show Idle + Offline combined, or Offline separately.

  • View two bar graphs:

    • Running time

    • Downtime (tagged or unidentified)

  • See a summary of top downtime events (date, time, duration, and associated tag).

How to apply

  • Use weekly reviews with maintenance and engineering teams to focus on the top 3 downtime causes.

  • Track downtime trends after new process changes or preventive maintenance steps.

Tips and pitfalls

  • Always tag downtime events—untagged downtime makes reports less actionable.

  • Combine with the Issues widget to see root cause trends across devices.

  • Avoid tracking too many downtime categories—focus on the vital few.
