Optimizing chillers requires using Guidewheel's Calculations to compare specific power consumption (kW/TR) for chillers to the optimum, which is 1.2-1.5 kW/TR.

From Diagnostics, you can determine the kW used by the machine and combine with data on output to compare to baseline.

If there is higher energy consumption than the optimum, explore the next step of actions to improve efficiency. If the next step does not result in significant improvement in efficiency, use Guidewheel's Calculations to explore the financial ROI on a more efficient chiller. The Guidewheel team is happy to run these calculations for you.

Once complete, thoroughly clean cooling fins/filters to remove choking or coating by dirt/particles and ensure good air flow for all condensers.

Finally, use Guidewheel's Calculations (and Grouping as needed) to set a baseline of consumption from which increases will indicate a need for maintenance/cleaning.
