Overview

The Guidewheel Scoreboard helps plant floor teams monitor machine performance in real time. This article walks you through how to access and display your Scoreboard, interpret the performance indicators, and respond to downtime events—so your team can stay on target throughout each shift.

1. Access the Scoreboard

To open the Scoreboard:

  1. Log into Guidewheel.

  2. Click Scoreboard from the left-hand toolbar.

If your plant floor has monitors already installed, you can display the Scoreboard on those screens for team visibility.

2. Change Scoreboard Views

Your Guidewheel administrator can set up custom Scoreboard views to reflect:

  • Different plants

  • Specific work areas

  • Groups of machines

To switch views, use the View dropdown at the top of the Scoreboard screen.

3. Change Scoreboard Metrics

You can also change the metric displayed (e.g., Runtime, Cycles, Speed, or OEE). We recommend starting with Runtime and using Shift View to help teams stay on track during their shift.

4. Select a time frame

You can also select the time frame to display. We recommend using Shift View to show your team how they’re trending over the course of their shift.

5. Enable Live Mode

To prevent the monitor from sleeping or displaying a screensaver:

  1. Click the Live Mode toggle on your Scoreboard.

  2. Switch to Full Screen Mode to make the display readable across the plant floor.

5. Understand Performance Colors

Each machine tile uses color to indicate performance:

  • Green = On track

  • Yellow = At risk for staying off track

  • Red = Off track

Your Guidewheel Admin should train your team to understand what each color means in relation to your runtime targets. Consider displaying a key or legend on the floor to reinforce expectations.

Tip: Encourage Friendly Competition

Teams often improve performance by striving to “stay in the green.” You can support this behavior by:

  • Recognizing shift or daily top performers

  • Offering small rewards for hitting targets

  • Highlighting wins in team huddles

Gamification reinforces healthy habits and boosts engagement.

6. Respond to Downtime Issues

When downtime occurs, the Scoreboard will display a warning triangle on the affected machine tile.

  • The issue will appear as Open until acknowledged.

  • Operators can tag the issue using Sidekick (e.g., "Electrical Motor Problem").

  • Once someone begins addressing the problem, mark it Acknowledged.

  • When resolved, set the status to Closed.

This workflow helps operations and maintenance teams respond quickly and minimize unplanned downtime.

7. Investigate Further

Click on any machine tile to open related data modules, including:

  • Uptime

  • Trends

  • Production

  • Cycles

  • Issues

These deep links allow you to dive into historical or supporting data for root cause analysis and performance tracking.

Final Tips

Your Scoreboard is more than just a dashboard—it’s a real-time tool to drive accountability and performance. By making results visible and easy to act on, your team can continuously improve shift by shift.
