Download and fill out the template below to train your plant floor team on the Guidewheel Scoreboard. This will help them understand what it means to be in the green, yellow or red and what actions you want them to take in each situation. It’s also useful to post this template in break rooms and other locations in the plant where teams can easily see and refer to it.

  1. Select which metric your Scoreboard is configured to display - Runtime, Cycle Time or OEE.

  2. Fill in the time period your Scoreboard is configured to display. For example, you can choose to see the current shift, the last hour, the last 24 hours or whatever time period is most relevant to your organization.

  3. Fill in the percentages that determine which color is displayed on your Scoreboard. For example, if you configured your Scoreboard to turn from green to yellow when a machine falls below 80% of target, and yellow to red at 70% of target, Green = 80% - 100%, Yellow = 70% - 79% and Red = 0% - 69%.

  4. Decide what actions operators should take based on the Scoreboard. Here are a few ideas:

  • Keep up the good work!

  • Take action to get back on track

  • Contact maintenance

  • Contact a supervisor

  • No action needed

Think about ways to promote friendly competition using the Scoreboard. For example, you might run a contest to reward the person or team who has the most time in the green for the shift or the week.
