How to Set Up Devices

Set targets and other details for your devices

In Guidewheel, select Settings --> Configurations --> Devices. Select the edit icon next to the device you want to edit.

Edit Device - In the Device Settings, you will see tabs for General, Thresholds, Targets, and Details

General - in this section you can:

  • Update the Device name

  • Select Speed or Cycles depending on the process for the device

  • Set Device Tags which will limit/prioritize which tags are available for downtime Issues on this device

Thresholds

  • Please review this article for a walkthrough on How to Set Up Thresholds

  • Adjust offline, idle and rated thresholds to define run states for the device

Targets

  • *Runtime (Recommended for all devices) - Set the target runtime percentage for the device.

  • Waste Quantity - Set the target waste quantity per hour for the device

  • Speed - Set the target speed per hour for the device

  • Energy Intensity - Set the target energy intensity in kWh per unit for the device

  • Maintenance - Set a number of Running hours before the machine needs maintenance

Speed Line - Use this option to create a new speed line displayed in the Uptime chart.

Details - In this tab, set or view additional device details

  • Device ID - a unique identifier. Important for some data upload processes

  • Make, Model, Vintage, Device Category, Material - for reporting and benchmarking

  • Sensor Type, Port, and Calibration Status - for tracking and validating set up

Open Preview - Use this option to see how changes will appear before they are applied.

Save Changes - When all changes are complete, click the Save button to save your changes. You will be prompted yes to confirm your changes.
