Overview

Guidewheel is accessible from any internet-connected device with a browser, but customers often appreciate hardware recommendations. This guide highlights what we’ve seen work well across manufacturing sites.

Minimum Technical Requirements

Because Guidewheel runs in the browser, there are no strict hardware requirements. For optimal performance, we suggest:

  • Browser: Google Chrome (latest version)

  • RAM: At least 4 GB (more is better)

  • Internet: Stable connection required

Recommended Devices

📱 Tablets

Customers can use either iOS or Android depending on preference. Proven models include:

📺 TVs

Any Smart TV with internet access and a browser will work. Our go-to recommendation has been:

🖥️ PCs

Any PC with Chrome and 4 GB+ RAM is sufficient.

Optional Additional Accessories

  • iPad Stand: No official stand is provided by Guidewheel, but most generic adjustable tablet stands work fine.

  • Protective (ruggedized) case: Protects against drops, grease, dust, and spills. Recommended brands: OtterBox, SUPCASE.

  • Anti-glare screen protector: Improves visibility under bright factory lighting by reducing glare.

  • Wall or pole mount: Saves counter space and keeps tablets safely out of the way; VESA-compatible mounts work well.

  • Industrial touch stylus: Enables accurate touchscreen interaction, even when wearing gloves.

  • Charging station or dock: Keeps tablets charged and organized, especially useful for shared or rotating devices.

  • Cable management clips: Prevent cable clutter and reduce the risk of snagging or tripping.

  • Portable power bank: Useful for areas without easy access to outlets or for mobile setups.

  • Bluetooth keyboard: Helpful if operators need to enter longer notes or comments.

Still Unsure?

Hardware depends on usage and setup. When in doubt, ask your CSM for tailored advice based on your site layout and workflow.
